PHL on Hiatus

This probably won't be a surprising announcement given the lack of updates this summer, I've decided to take an indefinite break from the PHL project and focus on career and family. I would still love to finish the project someday, life has just gotten so much busier and I've found I've had to spend a lot of my free time on it when I should be giving that time to my kids as well as some other projects.

Thanks to everone who has followed this series, it's been fun!

  1. I've enjoyed reading the story. I'm sad to see that, like the AFA, it won't continue in the near future, if at all. I know that I've said this to you privately at least once in the past, but as the AFA declined due to my own life becoming busier and through my mental health struggles, reading the PHL gave me something to look forward to. I know that I may never see another update again, but I won't be deleting this bookmark. It's been a privilege to watch this league develop.

    Thank you,
    Veras

    1. That means a lot coming from you man, I always felt the same way about the AFA, which was one of the biggest inspirations for this project. I do really hope I can resume it when things stabilize.

  3. One summer night, I scrolled through the Sports Fan Fiction Forum on Sportslogos.net just for fun, but then I saw this league and got hooked. I got an account to follow this and I enjoyed your work with the PHL. Thanks for the memories and enjoy your time with your family.

  4. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The fans are what made it enjoyable for me, I know I probably wouldn't have gotten as far as I did with it if not for you guys and your interest. Thanks for following!

  5. I'm a little late to this 'party' I see. I posted on the old forum when I heard the Sports Fanfiction was getting nuked, about how reading about the PHL helped me during the toughest part of my life and made me feel like I wasn't the only person nerdy enough to simulate their own leagues. I remember binging the entirety of the PHL and AFA in just a day or 2 of joining the forum. I remember the teams moving and dynasties forming, I have memories and waking up every day and checking the forum for concepts and to keep up to date on the leagues. Reading this gave me confidence to actually simulate more than a year seasons, my current biggest is nearly 60 years long... I even remember asking you how you simulated the PHL (multiple times because I couldn't remember) so that I could simulate my own. I don't have a desire to post my own anywhere but reading this always made me cheer up, even when I was in the darkest time in my life. Thankyou for all the memories and hardwork you put through this. And good luck with your life and family

  7. I just want to let you know, that you inspired me to make sports leagues in my spare time. I hope you are safe out there in these troubled times, and a hope that one day you can get back to this.

    P.S.- Lumberjacks forever

  8. Hey bud! Now bud I’m a absolute diehard PHL fan ( I cheer for the Lumberjacks as I’m from Minnesota) was wondering if u could make me some logos for my own NHL, now note I did use some PHL names for NHL teams , but listen bud, I’m not trying to be rude or mean in anyway (because I’m not mean at all and also this is not PHL related but I fought in the Afghanistan War and was a POW in Afghanistan). (as I have reasons and logical explanations For not using Thrashers or Kraken or Wild or Scouts or Avalanche or Golden Knights or Panthers etc) (Grey Wolves for Seattle, (because I’m not gonna use Kraken For Seattle as I just think the kraken name is stupid, (what the hell is a kraken anyway, my mom thinks it’s a fish lol) ( and also note ( I used different logos than the PHL teams for those names , for Seattle I have a Seattle-area-native-art style wolf head For the primary and for the secondary I have native style wolf totem that also has a hockey stick on it in Pacific Turquoise, Northwest Green,Steel Blue and Silver and Grey (Grey is in the logos only, silver is used on the jerseys and the outline of the logo) , For Denver I used bighorns because I don’t really like the name avalanche as I just thought the name sounds obnoxious, and for Denver the bighorns logo is a Bighorn charging out of a Rocky Mountain, and the secondary is the same logo with a puck flying through the Rocky Mountain, also bud I haven’t made logos In a month because my logos are just low quality, but I did make colour palettes for those logos, thanks bud, and P.S. Lumberjacks Forever! 👊
